Letter of Invitation
To whom it may concern,
Greetings from the Vietnam Public Health Association (VPHA)! VPHA and SRHR NGOs are honored to be the host and convenor of the 9th Asia Pacific Conference on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights (APCRSHR) to be held in November 2017 in Hanoi, Vietnam. Please visit the website: http://www.apcrshr9vn.org.
APCRSHR is held every two years. The 9th APCRSHR aims to gather SRHR practitioners, experts and researchers in the Asia Pacific Region to share information and good practices for scaling up and/or replication, and to continue to expand and maintain relationships and alliances. We expect 1,500 to 2,000 delegates.
We have convened the first International Steering Committee (ISC) meeting in Hanoi on April 19 to 20, 2016.
The ISC members agreed that the 9th APCRSHR theme should be Leave No One Behind! Justice in Sexual and Reproductive Health. The conference objectives are as follows.
- To systematically review the performance of the Asia Pacific region, sub-regions, and countries including the good SRHR practices and lessons learned for diverse groups and social settings.
- To identify the current and future roles and accountability of different stakeholders particularly NGOs, national and local governments, and development partners in achieving key SRHR results;
- To explore new paradigms, innovative ideas, and strategies that would meaningfully address emerging SRHR issues, challenges, accountability of stakeholders in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework.
- To foster new alliances and to strengthen partnerships and cooperation in SRHR endeavours among diverse stakeholders from the region.
VPHA is a CSO actively involved in SRHR and Public Health in Vietnam. We implement SRHR programs, undertake related studies and advocate for effective SRHR policies. We also work closely with NGOs, academe and government. Please visit http://vpha.org.vn/
We are now in the midst of preparing for the conference and we are facing a tough challenge on funding. In this regards, may I request your good office to support us? We can explore mutually beneficial collaborative arrangements such as: sponsoring satellite sessions, providing youth scholarships, preparation and printing of program booklets, leaflets and other marketing materials and renting exhibit booth. In return, we offer to acknowledge your organization, as one of the major sponsors, in all conference materials and activities.
We look forward for your collaboration and support.
